Woolongong, 26 May 2013 ...

What a great day for a drive to Wollongong; not a cloud in the sky. We met at McDonalds on Orange Grove Road, and on arrival, most of us had a cuppa of something before heading-off at 10:00 am.

With Bob leading the group, we drove steadily as the presence of the boys-in-blue were seen ahead of the group. Arriving safely and parking at the back area of the North Wollongong Hotel there was time to chat before going-in and ordering lunch.

A new member, David and his son Keiran arrived to meet with us and to have lunch. He had photos of the project LH they are working-on and asked us to go and have a look at it.

Late arrival, Rose and Harold in their LC four door, after some confusion of where the hotel entrance was. Fed and watered half the group (Bob, Les, Liz, Mike and Denise) going-off to see the ‘project’ while Rob, Leanne, Scott and Leanne headed home, leaving Rose and Harold to enjoy their lunch in peace.

David and Keiran in their HZ ute took us on a tour around the lighthouse in Wollongong before heading to their house. To our surprise Denise told us she had grown-up in the area and her favourite sandwich shop (not in use) is just up the street from David’s, of course she had to have a visit down memory lane.

After meeting the family, we a had a good look at the car which is well under way, painted and wheels on, only the engine to be fitted up and the trim to be done.

Time to head home, we followed Bob most of the way. Another great day out, good company and great weather.
