Penrith Whitewater and Kurrajong Heights Hotel, 23 October 2011 ....

Arrived at White Water Rafting early and went for a lap taking photos and watching the guys on the course practicing. Awesome by the way, the speed of the water rushing down the course, which is controlled by the pumps. There was also a group of SES personal there swimming across the course against the current, getting some vital practice in. We had a cuppa and watched a four and eight man raft go down the course.

Time to leave and one of our newest members, Matt Andreatta, joined us in the car park for a chat. The York’s arrived after an eventful trip down from Lithgow. So off to Kurrajong, lots of burning-off happening so the mountains were covered in smoke haze. As we arrived so did Ian and Cindy. We ordered and the conversation turned to Toranafest and the goings-on and breakdowns.

Unfortunately the view wasn’t good because of the smoke haze. Better luck next time. For those who didn’t get there you missed a good day.

After all the goodbyes, some went up the hill and some down. Hope everyone got home safe and sound.
